The Alan Lee Collection was established in 1994.  Since its inception they have offered a complete line of functional handmade items for the home.  All of Alan's products are produced in his New York City Studio by Alan and his staff of artisans.  Each item is hand-gilded, hand-painted, embellished by hand and fired at low temperature to insure a durable and lustrous finish.  We recommend hand-washing only and no microwave or oven use. With a little care, you will enjoy his products for a lifetime.

In the early 70', Alan Lee and his family were forced out of Vietnam because of the war.  After enduring a life-threatening boat trip and the miserable conditions of a refugee camp, they eventually found their way to the United States.  At the age of 5, he was placed in public school where he encountered western culture in the form of English, Lego's, and Suzy Bake Ovens.  In his teens, he discovered his distaste for regimented education and the joys of pool halls and spiked hair.  After high school his creative impulses brought him to the Fashion Institute of Technology where he studied jewelry design.  He currently resides in New York City and enjoys a life with his two dogs.
